This 2 – Day programme is designed to enable new teams and new managers of teams to get the team off to the ‘best possible start’.
Using TeamBuilders International’s innovative experiential learning we take the team on a journey from agreeing their team purpose and vision through managing the expectations of both team and manager to enabling them to work out how best they will work together as a team and how they are going to ensure that the team vision, purpose and targets are all achieved.
At the end of the two days the team will have:
- Agreed their common purpose, vision and goals or targets.
- Agreed what values they will live by and what behaviours are needed to drive the values.
- Understood the business plan of the team and the actions needed to ensure the business plan is delivered.
- Understood each person’s role in the team and the objectives that each person has in order to fulfil that role and their part in the team.
- Had the opportunity to outline expectations of the manager and the manager to outline their expectations of the team and the individuals.
- Their awareness raised of the strengths and development areas of the team through individual and team profiling.
- Been through, experientially, the natural stages of development of a team and thus been made aware of how to steer the team through the stages when they possibly appear again.

We are continually amazed by the number of managers we meet who are never given any direct training in teamwork and how best to lead their teams to success. As a result of little or no training in this area then managers are immediately placed at a major disadvantage when attempting to lead their teams to hit their goals.
Our two day programme will give managers an insight into teams and team dynamics and will enable them to lead their teams from the offset.
At the end of the two day course managers will have learned:
-
How to create a compelling vision and get ‘buy-in’ and support for that vision.
-
How to ‘contract’ with the team and with individuals to ensure productive working relationships.
-
How to support and move the team through the various stages of team development.
-
How to resolve team conflict and manage difficult team members.
-
How to ensure effective communication within and out-with the team.
-
How to develop and monitor progress of a team development plan.
-
How to reward and recognise team success.
All managers will go away with an action plan that will be followed up as agreed with the sponsoring company.
